Stiebel Eltron HRV Centralised Ducted Ventilation System

Stiebel Eltron centralised ducted HRV ventilation systems recover heat from outgoing stale air and transfer it to the incoming fresh air. In summer they use the energy from outgoing cool air to cool down the incoming hot air.

These are Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) systems and they can capture up to 94% of the heating and cooling energy from the outgoing stale air and transfer that to the incoming fresh air.

This reduces your heating and cooling load and hence reduces your heating and cooling operating costs. It also makes your house feel fresh and airy even with windows closed.

Centralised ducted systems such as Stiebel Eltron models LWZ 180 and LWZ 280 are important in thermally-efficient, air-tight houses.

Centralised systems have small diameter ducting running to all rooms of your home. Return air registers are placed strategically to aid the air flow.

These centralised ducted HRV systems measure and manage carbon dioxide levels, humidity and balance air temperature in every room. They help prevent condensation and mould build-up with air flow rates of 60 – 350 m3/h.

The air flow rate depends on the air volume of each room, which is an important consideration of your design.

Centralised ducted systems are more expensive than de-centralised systems due to the extra materials and labour involved. However, they are more effective and have greater functionality.
