Which Air Conditioning System is Best for You?
- Split
- Multi Split
- Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF)
- Energy Recovery
- Ducted
All can be WIFI connected to operate on your electronic devices

Split systems:
- Single high wall indoor unit connected to a single outdoor unit
- Efficient, low heating/cooling loss from refrigerant lines
- Good for narrow ceiling space
- Low-cost option for air conditioning a single room
Multi Split Systems:
- Multiple indoor units with one outdoor unit
- Serves multiple rooms
- Efficient, low heating/cooling loss from refrigerant pipes
- Choice of indoor units: high wall, concealed & in-ceiling cassettes
- Good for narrow ceiling space, concealed indoor units need bulkheads
- Good option for 2 or 3 rooms
Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF):
- Multiple indoor units with one outdoor unit
- Efficient, low heating/cooling loss from refrigerant pipes
- Optimises refrigerant flow in short or long pipe runs
- Choice of indoor units: high wall, concealed & in-ceiling cassettes
- Good for narrow ceiling space, concealed indoor units need bulkheads
- Good option for more than 3 rooms
Energy Recovery Systems
- Option to consider of you have a pool or spa
- Requires 3 phase power for the outdoor unit
- Requires a Hydro kit
- Very efficient in summer using waste heat from a/c for pool heating
Ducted systems:
- Cost-effective way to serve many rooms
- Ducting runs in ceiling, bulkheads or underfloor
- Not as efficient as the options above, heating/cooling loss through ducting
- Electronic duct dampers needed for room zoning
- Requires ceiling space of at least 300mm
